For Carolyn and Ryan's intimate engagement session in Washington, DC, we spent the day in an art gallery chatting and getting to know each other. Because their engagement session was in January, we knew it was important to find an indoor location. With so many incredible options near Washington, DC, finding an indoor location for a winter engagement session was easy. We spent the day exploring the gallery, taking photos and admiring the art. It was so much fun and the most perfect way to spend an afternoon. Carolyn and Ryan are two of the most laid back, fun, down to earth people I've ever met - I feel so lucky to know them!
The National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC is a wonderful choice for an intimate engagement session. The building itself provides the most beautiful architecture and backdrop to make any session look and feel romantic, timeless, and elevated. Even though the gallery is full of thousands of people at one time, there were still plenty of opportunities to find a quiet and secluded spot all throughout the magnificent gallery. The best part is that you get to enjoy centuries old paintings and sculptures from both some of the most world renowned artist such as Leonardo da Vinci, Vittore Carpaccio and Vincent Van Gogh. Your engagement photos are sure to be unique and will stand out when put on display.
If you’re on the fence about having engagement photos as part of your wedding package, I would highly consider it! Engagement sessions are such a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera, but also such a good way to get to know your photographer in a more low key setting.
